Home Schooling
Regular Faith Formation classes are the
preferred method of catechesis at St. Isidore. However, we understand that
this is not an option for some students. Therefore, home schooling is
available for those who are unable to attend regular classes. These
students are required to turn in a summary of their learning at the end of
an academic year. |
Sacramental Preparation
As per the Diocese of Oakland, children who wish
to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist must be
enrolled in Faith Formation classes for two consecutive years.
Several parent meetings are required for the sacramental preparation.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Children
(RCIC) is for sacramental children in grades 3 – 9, who have not
yet been baptized.
Special Sacramental
Preparation Program (SSP) is for
sacramental children in grades 3 – 9, who have been baptized either
Catholic or in another (Trinitarian) Christian faith.
The parish also has other Sacramental Programs:
Please
contact the parish office for Infant Baptisms, Matrimony, and other religious needs. |
Classes for 3 to 5 year olds, including kindergarteners,
are held during the Sunday 9:00 am and 10:30am Masses
in the St. Isidore School classrooms (#113, 114, & 115) next to the
church. The program’s curriculum combines storytelling, songs, religious
instruction and crafts, and it is based on the Sunday readings. This
program begins in September and ends in May.
Volunteer teachers make Little Farmers possible for our young
parishioners. Teachers co-teach in teams and are provided training, lesson
plans, classroom materials and support. The time commitment involved
depends on the size of the teaching team, however each teacher generally
lead-teaches about once per month. Please consider joining our teaching
team - the joy on the faces of our Little Farmers is truly rewarding!
The program uses the lectionary-based curriculum, "Celebrating the
Lectionary". For more information, please visit http://www.rpinet.com/ctl.html#whydo or http://www.rpinet.com/ctl.html
Children must be registered in order to participate. |
